Rangitoto Island Day Trip Auckland
For a great day out in Auckland check out Rangitoto Island. I have to be honest, this was my 3rd time up to the Summit of Rangitoto Island. Last weekend I met up with family in Auckland and we decided for a fun day out to catch the Ferry to Rangitoto Island and then climb to the top of the summit for lunch. Catch the Ferry from Devenport or Downtown Auckland We travelled into downtown Auckland and caught the Ferry from the wharf in the city. It was quite busy. Being the school holidays and such a nice day, many others had the same idea. Once the ferry was loaded…

Then I thought why not compare beach images and look at different coasts, Islands and beaches as they are all so unique in their own special way. This post will be more about images than writing so lets just take the visual tour. An Image View It is quite interesting checking the beaches out in a row as above. Goat Island Marine Reserve Day Trip From Auckland
Goat Island Marine Reserve The first Marine Reserve in NZ Goat Island Marine Reserve is within a 90 min drive North of Auckland Central. The perfect day trip, at which you can walk, swim, kayak and snorkel or dive. Take a picnic and have lunch on the bank overlooking the reserve. On a nice day, you need to get there early to secure a close park. During the summer there is usually see-through kayaks to hire and a glass-bottom boat that you can go out on if you do not wish to get your feet wet. There is a shop that you can hire snorkel gear from located just before…

Summer is the time to get out and enjoy the Hauraki Gulf Take a look at 4 Islands that I love to visit and that are perfect for day trips in the Hauraki Gulf. All 4 of these Islands are only a short ride by Ferry. Kawau Island I love this Island, I have many childhood memories from visiting Kawau Island as it was often the choice for picnic stops while we were boating in the Hauraki Gulf. You can easily grab a Ferry from Sandspit and it only takes about 20 mins across, give or take depending on scheduled stops in the many scenic bays along the way. Many…
Hauraki Gulf Islands a Scenic Image NZ
This post is all about sharing my scenic images of the Hauraki Gulf. This is a good chance to bring my images into one post. These photos were all taken on day trips or overnight camps in the Hauraki Gulf. There are many Islands in the Hauraki Gulf, some I have been to, some you can not land on and others I hope to visit on a later date. Motuora Island is amazing and I was so lucky to get the opportunity to camp for 2 nights there. A great place to swim, walk and kayak in between just relaxing in the sand. Kawau Island One of my favourite day…

You may always take your camera with you, or sometimes wish you had thought of taking photos but with digital cameras, taking good images is just so easy. The trick is to know just when to use it to get some amazing images. If you have been hanging around with me here you will know that I love taking photos. I am no expert but sometimes I like to pretend I am. Beach photos are a passion of mine although I find it hard to paint ocean scenes I…
